Troubleshooting Facebook Page Connections

If you’re experiencing issues with connecting a Facebook Page to your TINT, please ensure that all of the following conditions are met:

1) Your Facebook Page has a Username

If the URL for your Facebook Page ends in a series of numbers and looks something like this:

The Page isn't being connected due to the fact that it has a randomly generated Facebook Web Address. TINT needs you to create a custom Facebook Web Address (URL) in order to have your Facebook Page connect properly.

To create a new Facebook Web Address:

  • Select your Facebook Page under the PAGES section on the left-hand side of the screen:

  • Click "About" on the left-hand side of the screen:

  • Hover over "Username", and then select "Edit":

  • Enter a Username, and then click "Create Username":

Once you've input a Username for your Page, the URL for your page should change immediately:

You can now return to the TINT Editor, and re-add the Page in the CONTENT panel. Input the new Username and you should now be connected properly:

2) Your Facebook Page doesn't have Country or Age Restrictions

Country and Age Restrictions limit the ability for TINT to gain access to your Page's posts. You can verify whether or not your Page has Country or Age Restrictions in place by taking the following steps:

  • Select your Facebook Page under the PAGES section on the left-hand side of the screen:

  • Click "Settings" on the upper right-hand side of the screen:

  •  Halfway down the page you'll see Country Restrictions and Age Restrictions

Your settings should appear as above. If you have restrictions in place we may have limited, if any, access to your posts through the Facebook API.

3) Your Facebook Page URL doesn't end with an ID number

Occasionally a Facebook Page that already has a Username set will have a URL that ends in an ID number:

If the URL for your Facebook Page does end in an ID number, despite having a Username, there is a workaround. Simply copy the ID number from the URL, and enter that into the facebook page name field when you add the connection:

If all of these conditions are met, but you're still experiencing issues with a Facebook Page, please email Technical Support at and we’d be happy to troubleshoot for you.
